VA MARKET
WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE
VA market right now?
Two of the biggest questions I’m hearing right now—especially as we approach year-end—are: “What’s happening in the VA market?” and “Should I even start or continue marketing my VA business now?” With December around the corner, it’s natural to feel unsure, thinking that clients may be winding down for the year. In this blog, we’ll explore why this season may be just the right time to get your VA business rolling or to ramp up your efforts.
THE VA MARKET TODAY: A BETTER TIME THAN EVER!
Honestly, I envy anyone starting their VA business now. When I began back in 2014, I spent most of my time explaining what a Virtual Assistant even was. The demand was minimal, and understanding was limited. But since the pandemic, the VA market has exploded, and businesses have a newfound appreciation for remote support. Here’s why:
Flexibility Over Traditional Hires: Small businesses need support but don’t want the expense of hiring full-time employees. Virtual Assistants offer that needed flexibility without the full-time commitment.
Cost-Efficiency: Many businesses have let go of office spaces to save on costs, making remote work ideal. VA services allow them to get the help they need without the overhead.
Outsourcing Benefits: Owners realize that outsourcing administrative tasks allows them to focus on growth, and VAs are the perfect solution to handle tasks that keep their businesses running smoothly.
Feedback from my program graduates confirms this growth—many are fully booked, some already into next year, and requests for associate VAs are pouring in. This market shift tells us one thing: the demand for Virtual Assistants is strong and growing.
SHOULD YOU WAIT OR START NOW?
If you’re working a full-time job, you might wonder if you should dive in now or wait until after the holiday season. I always advise a thoughtful transition plan rather than jumping in without a safety net. But if you find yourself feeling:
- Stuck in the corporate world and craving something better
- Undervalued in your current role despite knowing you handle so much
- Frustrated with a lack of flexibility in your work schedule
- Drained by a toxic environment and dreaming of spending more time with family
Why wait? You don’t need to give up your job or skip the holiday season. The key is to begin laying the groundwork now, even if it’s just setting up systems and gaining clarity on your services. Starting now means you’ll be prepared to take on clients right when January kicks off, rather than having to scramble to get organized.
