BEFORE MY VIRTUAL ASSISTANT DAYS: A GLIMPSE OF THE PAST

When I graduated high school in 2002, I felt completely uncertain about my future. While friends had their career paths mapped out, my primary goal was just to secure a job and start earning. College wasn’t an option financially, so I dove into the workforce. My first job involved taking phone orders for books, and although it wasn’t glamorous, it got my foot in the door. Soon, I moved up to admin and receptionist roles, eventually becoming an Executive Personal Assistant (PA) for C-level executives.

I poured myself into these roles, always giving my best, yet I felt constrained, like I was missing something. I’d sit at my desk dreaming of more—more freedom, creativity, and the chance to build something of my own. But with bills to pay and a demanding job, how could I make a drastic change?

THE TURNING POINT

On a particularly routine day, I found myself checking off every half-hour that passed, just trying to get through the day. This ritual made me realize just how unfulfilled I was. I was tired of having my time monitored, feeling guilty for taking lunch, and sitting in traffic for hours. I knew I could make more of my time and talents but was trapped in a cycle I couldn’t break alone.

Then came my “aha” moment. I decided to take a leap into the unknown and start my own business. Without a degree, a mentor, or any savings to fall back on, I threw myself into building my Virtual Assistant business, learning as I went.

STARTING MY VIRTUAL ASSISTANT JOURNEY

Every spare moment outside my job was dedicated to building my VA business. With zero experience in business, I taught myself everything from scratch—building a website, creating a service list, and marketing my skills. The journey was far from smooth. There were doubts, but I was driven by the dream of freedom.

Over time, I went from struggling to find clients to working with international clients across various industries, earning more than I ever did as a PA. And despite the mistakes I made, each one taught me a valuable lesson that helped me grow.

A NEW PASSION: EMPOWERING FUTURE VIRTUAL ASSISTANTS

Through this journey, I found my true passion—not only being a VA but also empowering others to start their own VA businesses. I had made so many mistakes in the beginning that could have been avoided with the right guidance, and I knew I could help others skip those hurdles.

I created a signature A-Z 6-Week Certification program to guide others through the process of launching a VA business, covering everything from finding clients to setting up systems. Over the years, I’ve watched women grow into successful VAs with a newfound sense of freedom and purpose, and each success story is incredibly fulfilling.
