Most Popular FAQs About Starting a VA Business – Answered Here

One of the most popular questions I get on a daily basis: “Do I need to leave my full-time job to start a Virtual Assistant business?”, it’s a good question, but the answer will probably shock you. I am here to make sure you get the right information – not the information that will put you in a bad financial situation. This answer will be the reason why you will succeed. This answer is the reason why I succeeded. Make sure you read on to find out what it is.

So what is the answer?

In short … the answer is NO! Why? That’s what we are going to delve into today…

Picture this …

You took some advice from someone on the internet that said you should resign from your job, so you took the advice and now …

❌ You are stuck without a job
❌ You are stuck with no income
❌ You are stressed to the max because you don’t know if or when you are going to get some money in
❌ You don’t know how you are going to pay your bills at the end of the month
❌ You are now worrying about how you will pay your kid’s school fees
❌ The very person online who advised you to leave your full-time job – is nowhere to be found for help or to even provide you with the foundation you needed in the first place to start a successful Virtual Assistant business

Now you are so stressed about money that you will not be able to work on your Virtual business and the ONLY dreaded next step is to start applying for another corporate role. This is the VERY reason why I started my Virtual Assistant Coaching business, is to help guide ladies on the right path and the right steps to start and succeed in this business. Guess what? I started my Virtual Assistant business with an exceptionally high-demanding Personal Assistant role and 99% of the ladies I train … do the same thing.

So what is the right answer?

To keep your corporate job … for the moment. Here’s why. You get to hold onto your salary and income and quietly start working on the right set-up of your Virtual Assistant business. Because the truth is, there is quite a lot of work to be done! I’m not saying it’s hard, but what I am saying, is that it is not as simple as coming up with a business name and designing a logo – oh no! You need the full and complete story and foundation, coupled with a proper plan for the steps going forward (specific to your situation).

Here are the steps you should take ...

Firstly, let me just say, if you are reading this and don’t have a job and have the time and the space to set up your Virtual Assistant business – then go for it girl, this is your time! But … if you find yourself in a full-time job, here are the steps I suggest you take:

1️⃣ Make the decision to take the step – don’t worry about how or feeling afraid – just make the decision

2️⃣ Get the right help from the right person (more about this below)

3️⃣ Put in the time when you can to work on the steps you need to take to get this business up and running

4️⃣ Design a plan with a timeline – so that you don’t back out (you also need a client method like the one I used that does not involve plastering your services or business all over social media and getting fired the next day when your boss sees your post!)

5️⃣ Set a resignation date and come up with a plan to make the transition safely. Did you know you can safely transition into a Virtual Assistant business while you have a full-time job? That’s what I am here to help with! Also, there is a misconception that you would need to come home from work and work until 2 am in the morning as a VA because you have a full-time job – that is also not the truth, you are able to actually take on clients while you have a full-time job (sound impossible? Trust me it is totally possible – ask me more about this).

What do you have to lose?

The way I see it – you have more to lose if you don’t take the skills you have and use them to make yourself rich, instead of someone else. In the world we are living in now, it is extremely dangerous to rely on a job that at any time could be made redundant and then you would be stuck with absolutely no back up plan.
